Eternal Progression • A Fuller Life for Everyone • Live and Help Live
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” — Matthew 5:9
🌍 Interfaith Prayer for Peace
The Sacred Work of Building Bridges
Sacred Mystery, known by countless names and encountered beyond every name,
Today we pray not for a world without differences, but for a world where differences no longer require enemies.
We join our hearts with Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Pagans, Baháʼís, followers of Indigenous traditions, humanists, seekers, doubters, agnostics, atheists, and everyone committed to the flourishing of life.
Teach us the sacred work of building bridges.
Where nations have learned to distrust one another, raise up diplomats, peacemakers, and ordinary neighbors willing to speak across boundaries.
Where religious communities carry memories of persecution and conflict, help us remember history without becoming prisoners of it.
Where prejudice tells us to fear someone we have never met, replace assumptions with encounters.
Where people are hungry, let compassion become food.
Where people are unhoused, let compassion become shelter.
Where refugees and displaced people seek safety, let compassion become welcome.
Where people are excluded because of identity or difference, let compassion become solidarity.
Where creation is wounded, let compassion become responsible action.
May we never confuse peace with silence in the presence of injustice.
Give us courage to confront oppression without surrendering ourselves to hatred.
Teach us to resist dehumanization wherever we encounter it—including within ourselves.
Remind us that every bridge begins from two sides.
Someone must take the first step.
Today, may we be willing.
May Christians build bridges.
May Muslims build bridges.
May Jews build bridges.
May Pagans build bridges.
May believers and unbelievers build bridges.
May nations build bridges.
May neighbors build bridges.
And when someone tells us that friendship across difference is impossible, may our lives become the counterargument.
One Earth.
One human family.
Many paths.
A shared future.
May peace become the bridge upon which we meet.
Amen. So may it be. Salaam. Shalom. Blessed be.
Peace to all beings.
🌿 Daily Kilubansa Healing Ritual
The Healing Bridge
Place two stones several inches apart.
Between them, place a leaf, familiar herb, flower, twig, or strip of paper to symbolize a bridge.
Place a bowl of clean water nearby.
Take three gentle breaths.
With the first, say:
I honor where I have been.
With the second:
I receive where I am.
With the third:
I remain open to where healing may lead.
Invocation
Sacred Source of Healing,
Kilubansa, healing presence,
Meet us between what has been and what is still becoming.
Healing is sometimes a bridge.
We stand on one side carrying pain, uncertainty, exhaustion, grief, or fear.
We cannot always see clearly what waits on the other side.
Still, we take the next step.
Bless those whose bodies need care.
Bless those whose minds need gentleness.
Bless those living with pain.
Bless those carrying memories that remain difficult.
Bless those who need help with ordinary tasks.
Bless caregivers who become bridges between vulnerability and safety.
Bless physicians, nurses, therapists, healers, chaplains, families, friends, and communities who accompany others.
And when cure is not possible, may care, dignity, companionship, comfort, meaning, and joy remain possible.
Healing Action
Touch the first stone.
Say:
I honor what I have survived.
Touch the bridge.
Say:
I honor the help that carries me forward.
Touch the second stone.
Say:
I welcome possibilities I cannot yet see.
Touch the water.
May healing flow without being forced.
Touch your forehead.
May my mind receive patience.
Touch your heart.
May my heart receive kindness.
Touch your hands.
May I accept the hands offered to me and offer mine when I can.
Now slowly trace the symbolic bridge with one finger.
Say:
I do not have to cross every bridge today.
One step is enough.
Remain quietly for several breaths.
Closing
Say:
I honor my limits.
I welcome assistance.
I release shame about needing others.
I celebrate every movement toward life.
I will cross today’s bridge one gentle step at a time.
I will live and help live.
So may it be.
This contemplative spiritual practice complements rather than replaces appropriate professional healthcare.
✝️ Order of Franciscan Clareans Reflection
Francis Crossed the Battlefield
In 1219, during the Fifth Crusade, Francis of Assisi crossed military lines and met Sultan al-Malik al-Kamil.
Christians and Muslims were at war.
Francis could have remained comfortably among people who shared his religion.
Instead, he crossed the boundary.
Whatever legends later accumulated around the encounter, its basic historical memory gives us a powerful Franciscan image:
Francis went toward the person his world called the enemy.
That matters.
The Franciscan Clarean way cannot be reduced to birdbaths, brown robes, and pleasant quotations about nature.
Franciscan spirituality contains a dangerous challenge:
Cross the line that fear tells you not to cross.
That does not mean ignoring genuine danger.
It does not mean tolerating abuse.
It does not mean pretending injustice is acceptable.
It means refusing to let categories erase people.
Christian.
Muslim.
Conservative.
Progressive.
Believer.
Atheist.
Citizen.
Immigrant.
Insider.
Outsider.
These words may describe something real, but none describes the entirety of a human being.
Jesus repeatedly crossed boundaries too.
He ate with people considered unacceptable.
He touched people labeled unclean.
He made a Samaritan—the religious outsider—the moral hero of one of his most famous stories.
The Gospel keeps sabotaging our attempts to divide humanity neatly into us and them.
Our radically pluralistic Franciscan Clarean path therefore asks:
Can I hold convictions without dehumanizing someone who rejects them?
Can I oppose injustice without learning to enjoy hatred?
Can I encounter another religion seeking understanding rather than conquest?
Can I listen before deciding what somebody believes?
Can I build a bridge without demanding that the person on the other side become like me?
Those are difficult questions.
Good.
Spirituality should occasionally make us uncomfortable.
Our objective is Eternal Progression.
Our goal is A Fuller Life for Everyone.
Our slogan is Live and Help Live.
And perhaps today’s Franciscan instruction is even shorter:
Cross the Bridge. Meet the Neighbor.
Live simply.
Love boldly.
Resist domination.
Practice peace.
Build bridges.
✨ Order of ChristoCorrellians Ritual
The Ritual of the Sacred Bridge
Place a candle or electric candle at the center of your sacred space.
Place one stone on each side of the candle.
Let one stone represent the spiritual path that formed you.
Let the other represent traditions and perspectives different from your own.
Take three slow breaths.
Say:
Sacred Mystery,
God and Goddess,
Christ and Holy Wisdom,
Divine Feminine and Sacred Spirit,
meet me where different roads encounter one another.
East — Air
Face or visualize the East.
Sacred Air, clear away assumptions.
Teach me to listen before I define another person’s path.
South — Fire
Turn toward the South.
Sacred Fire, burn away fear of difference.
Give me courage to encounter rather than conquer.
West — Water
Turn toward the West.
Sacred Water, widen my compassion.
Teach me relationship without requiring sameness.
North — Earth
Turn toward the North.
Sacred Earth, remind me that every spiritual tradition has arisen among people walking upon the same living world.
Return to the Center
Look toward the first stone.
Say:
I honor the path that has shaped me.
Look toward the second.
I honor that wisdom may exist beyond my path.
Look toward the candle between them.
Sacred Mystery, be the light between us.
Imagine a bridge forming between the stones.
Say:
I do not cross this bridge to conquer.
I cross to encounter.
I do not cross to steal another tradition’s sacred treasures.
I cross to listen with respect.
I do not abandon my path by learning from another.
I become a better pilgrim.
Place your hands over your heart.
Pray:
May Jesus teach me radical neighbor-love.
May Christian wisdom deepen my commitment to compassion and justice.
May Correllian and Pagan wisdom deepen my reverence for nature, sacred cycles, and the Divine Feminine.
May people of other traditions speak for themselves, and may I listen.
May science keep me accountable to evidence.
May experience correct my assumptions.
May questions remain sacred.
May no religion—including my own—become an excuse for domination.
Pause in silence.
Then say:
Many traditions.
Many symbols.
Many stories.
Many roads.One Earth beneath us.
One sky above us.
One human family around us.
One Sacred Mystery beyond our possession.
Raise your hands slightly.
The bridge is open.
I cross in humility.
I return enriched, not superior.
I will live and help live.
Amen and blessed be.
🌱 The Urban Pilgrim’s Practice
Cross One Small Bridge
Speak today with someone you might normally pass by.
Maybe they belong to another religion.
Maybe they hold different opinions.
Maybe they’re from another generation or culture.
Maybe they’re simply someone you see regularly but have never really met.
Don’t debate them.
Don’t convert them.
Don’t fix them.
Try something revolutionary:
Be Curious.
Ask a sincere question.
Listen to the answer.
Human beings become much harder to turn into stereotypes once we know their stories.
One conversation won’t create world peace.
But neither does world peace arrive without conversations.
📖 Pilgrim’s Blessing
May the Sacred Mystery lead you beyond the borders of your certainty.
May Christ give you courage to cross the roads fear has closed.
May the Divine Feminine teach you relationship without domination.
May the Spirit turn strangers into neighbors.
May Brother Sun shine upon every religion without preference.
May Sister Water flow across borders drawn by human hands.
May Brother Wind carry wisdom from unfamiliar places.
May Mother Earth remind us that every human road eventually touches the same soil.
May you know when boundaries protect life and should remain strong.
May you also know when walls have outlived their purpose.
May your convictions remain passionate.
May your heart remain open.
May your questions remain alive.
May your encounters make your world larger.
Eternal Progression.
A Fuller Life for Everyone.
Live and Help Live.
Remember:
We Are One.
Build the bridge.
Cross when wisdom invites you.
Welcome whoever approaches from the other side.
And tomorrow—
We Walk Again.
Amen. So may it be.
