Radically Pluralistic. Anti-Dogmatic. Democratizing the Sacred.

“The kingdom of God is among you.”Luke 17:21

🌍 Interfaith Prayer for Peace

No One Owns the Sacred

Sacred Mystery,

known by countless names and by no name at all,

today we refuse the ancient temptation to imagine that the Holy belongs exclusively to us.

We join our prayers with Christians and Jews, Muslims and Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs, Pagans and Baháʼís, practitioners of Indigenous traditions, seekers, humanists, agnostics, atheists, mystics, doubters, and everyone whose spiritual identity refuses a convenient label.

We do not need to believe alike to work together for peace.

Where religious certainty has produced arrogance, give us humility.

Where sacred texts have been turned into weapons, raise up compassionate interpreters.

Where institutions protect power instead of people, awaken prophets.

Where political borders teach us to fear our neighbors, raise up bridge-builders.

Where war destroys communities, protect civilians and strengthen those working for reconciliation.

Where people are hungry, let our prayers become food.

Where people are unhoused, let our compassion become shelter.

Where someone has been rejected because of who they are, let our spirituality become welcome.

Where Earth has been treated merely as property, restore our awareness that we belong to the living community of creation.

May no priest, pastor, guru, teacher, institution, denomination, or tradition convince us that compassion requires permission.

The sacred is not controlled by gatekeepers.

Love needs no membership card.

Mercy requires no theological examination.

Peace belongs to everybody.

May Christians become better neighbors.
May Muslims become better neighbors.
May Jews become better neighbors.
May Pagans become better neighbors.
May people of every religion and no religion become better neighbors.

And may we discover that somewhere beneath our disagreements,

another human being is waiting to be recognized.

May peace begin wherever two people refuse to become enemies.

Amen.

So may it be.

Salaam.

Shalom.

Blessed be.

Peace to all beings.

🌿 Daily Kilubansa Healing Ritual

The Healing Circle Has No Gatekeeper

Place a bowl of clean water at the center of your sacred space.

Beside it, place a leaf, flower, familiar herb, seed, or stone.

Sit comfortably.

Take three gentle breaths.

With the first breath say:

“I arrive as I am.”

With the second:

“I release the need to prove myself.”

With the third:

“I welcome healing.”

Invocation

Sacred Source of Life,

Kilubansa, healing presence,

meet us here.

Not because we have spoken perfect words.

Not because we possess perfect beliefs.

Not because we have earned the right to seek wholeness.

Meet us simply because we are living beings who sometimes hurt.

May water remind us that healing flows.

May plants remind us that growth cannot be commanded.

May stones remind us that strength can be quiet.

May Earth remind us that every body belongs somewhere.

May breath remind us that this moment is enough.

We remember those who are sick.

Those who grieve.

Those living with pain.

Those whose minds are tired.

Those who care for others.

Those who cannot find words for what they are experiencing.

May healing communities surround them.

May physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, traditional healers, chaplains, families, and friends practice their callings with wisdom and compassion.

And when healing does not mean cure, may nobody be abandoned.

Healing Action

Touch the water.

Say:

Healing is not a reward.

Touch your forehead.

May my thoughts receive gentleness.

Touch your heart.

May my heart receive compassion.

Touch your hands.

May my actions carry kindness.

Hold the natural object you selected.

Imagine yourself sitting within a great circle.

There is no throne in the center.

Nobody stands above everyone else.

Each person brings wisdom.

Each person receives wisdom.

Say:

I enter the circle as an equal.
I bring what I know.
I remain open to what I do not know.
I receive help without shame.
I offer help without superiority.

Remain quietly for several breaths.

Closing

Return the object to your sacred space.

Say:

Healing belongs to the whole community.
Wisdom can arise from unexpected places.
I will honor my body.
I will respect the wisdom of others.
I will receive this day with compassion.

So may it be.

This contemplative spiritual practice complements rather than replaces appropriate professional healthcare.

✝️ Order of Franciscan Clareans Reflection

Jesus Didn’t Create a VIP Section

Religious institutions have an astonishing ability to create hierarchies.

Someone gets the special chair.

Someone receives the impressive title.

Someone decides who belongs.

Someone else gets told to remain outside.

Then Jesus walks into the story and makes everything inconvenient.

He eats with the wrong people.

He touches people considered unclean.

He speaks with women religious conventions told him to avoid.

He places children—people with almost no social status in his world—at the center.

And when his disciples argue about who is greatest, Jesus doesn’t give them a church organizational chart.

He points toward service.

Francis understood something of this.

He surrendered status and deliberately moved toward people medieval society pushed aside.

Clare resisted attempts to force her community into conventional structures of wealth and privilege.

Their spirituality points toward a radically democratized understanding of holiness:

Nobody owns God.

Clergy do not possess more sacred humanity than laypeople.

Scholars do not possess more sacred humanity than people who never attended college.

Christians do not possess more sacred humanity than people of other religions.

Believers do not possess more sacred humanity than doubters.

The wealthy do not possess more sacred humanity than the poor.

The person preaching and the person sleeping beneath the bridge both carry immeasurable dignity.

This doesn’t mean expertise is meaningless.

Teachers can teach.

Scholars can study.

Ministers can serve.

But spiritual authority should never become domination.

A Franciscan Clarean community should therefore look less like a pyramid and more like a circle.

At the center isn’t a powerful human leader.

At the center is Love.

Everyone brings something.

Everyone has something to learn.

Everyone may ask questions.

Everyone may challenge harmful ideas.

Everyone deserves a place at the table.

And nobody gets to own the Sacred.

Perhaps rebuilding the church today means removing a few velvet ropes.

Live simply.
Question courageously.
Love radically.
Share authority.
Keep the table open.

✨ Order of ChristoCorrellians Ritual

The Circle of Many Paths

Place a candle or electric candle at the center of your sacred space.

Around it place four symbols if available:

A feather or incense for Air.

A safe flame or representation of flame for Fire.

A bowl of water for Water.

A stone, plant, or soil for Earth.

Stand or sit before them.

Say:

Sacred Mystery,
God and Goddess,
Christ and Holy Wisdom,
Divine Feminine and Sacred Spirit,
Presence within creation and beyond every image we create of You,
meet us within this circle.

East — Air

Face or visualize the East.

Sacred Air,
free my mind from certainty that has become arrogance.
Give me curiosity.

South — Fire

Turn toward the South.

Sacred Fire,
burn away fear of difference.
Give me courage.

West — Water

Turn toward the West.

Sacred Water,
soften the boundaries around my compassion.
Give me mercy.

North — Earth

Turn toward the North.

Sacred Earth,
remind me that every human tradition arose beneath the same sky and upon the same living Earth.
Give me humility.

Return to the center.

Look toward the candle.

Say:

Jesus, teacher of radical love,
walk with me.

Touch the Earth.

Sacred Mother,
teach me reverence for creation.

Take a breath.

Holy Spirit,
breathe through every wall I have constructed around the Divine.

Place your hands over your heart.

God and Goddess,
Mystery beyond all doctrines,
keep my spirituality alive, curious, compassionate, and free.

Imagine people approaching the circle from many roads.

A Christian arrives carrying a cross.

A Pagan arrives carrying herbs.

A Buddhist arrives in silence.

A Muslim arrives with prayer.

A Jew arrives carrying sacred memory.

A Hindu arrives with sacred song.

A humanist arrives carrying commitment to human dignity.

A doubter arrives carrying questions.

Nobody is required to surrender what they carry.

The circle simply becomes larger.

Say:

Many paths.
Many stories.
Many symbols.
Many questions.
One Earth.
One human family.
One great Mystery beyond our possession.

Pause.

Then pray:

May I never confuse my experience of truth with ownership of truth.

May Christianity deepen my practice of radical love.

May Pagan wisdom deepen my reverence for Earth.

May other traditions challenge the limits of my understanding.

May questions remain welcome.

May dogma never become more important than people.

May spirituality liberate rather than control.

Raise your hands slightly.

The circle has no gatekeeper.
The table has no VIP section.
The Sacred cannot be owned.
Love remains at the center.

Amen and blessed be.

🌱 The Urban Pilgrim’s Practice

Learn From Someone Outside Your Bubble

Today, encounter one idea from outside your usual spiritual world.

Read a Buddhist teaching.

Listen to a Muslim speak about prayer.

Learn something about Jewish spirituality.

Explore Pagan reverence for nature.

Read an Indigenous writer speaking from their own tradition rather than someone speaking for them.

Talk with an atheist about what gives their life meaning.

Or listen carefully to someone whose Christianity looks nothing like yours.

Don’t approach them asking:

“How can I prove them wrong?”

Ask:

“What might they see that I have overlooked?”

You don’t need to adopt every idea you encounter.

Pluralism isn’t pretending differences don’t exist.

Pluralism is believing differences do not prevent relationship.

The Urban Pilgrim travels lightly enough to learn along the road.

📖 Pilgrim’s Blessing

May the Sacred Mystery remain larger than every box you build.

May Christ disturb every table where someone has been deliberately excluded.

May the Divine Feminine awaken wisdom beyond domination.

May the Spirit blow through locked theological doors.

May Brother Sun shine upon believer and unbeliever without discrimination.

May Sister Water refuse every border drawn upon a map.

May Brother Wind remind you that nobody can own the breath.

May Mother Earth remind you that every religion has walked upon her soil.

Carry your convictions.

But carry them lightly enough to learn.

Ask difficult questions.

Challenge harmful doctrines.

Honor wisdom wherever it appears.

Refuse spiritual hierarchies that diminish human dignity.

Build tables instead of walls.

Create circles instead of pyramids.

And wherever today’s pilgrimage carries you,

leave the gate open.

Someone unexpected may be bringing the wisdom you need.

Amen. So may it be.
