Eternal Progression • A Fuller Life for Everyone • Live and Help Live
“Let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.” — Romans 14:19
🌍 Interfaith Prayer for Peace
May We Learn to See One Another
Sacred Mystery, known by many names and encountered beyond every name,
Today we pray for the courage to truly see one another.
We join our hearts with Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Pagans, Baháʼís, followers of Indigenous traditions, humanists, seekers, doubters, agnostics, atheists, and all who work for the flourishing of life.
Teach us to see the human being before the label.
Before nationality.
Before religion.
Before politics.
Before class.
Before ideology.
Before every category we use to decide who belongs and who does not.
Where war has taught people to see enemies instead of human beings, strengthen peacemakers and protect civilians.
Where refugees and displaced people search for safety, awaken hospitality.
Where hunger exists beside abundance, turn compassion into sharing and justice.
Where prejudice tells people that some lives matter less, give communities courage to defend human dignity.
Where religions distrust one another, create friendships stronger than inherited suspicion.
Where political disagreement becomes contempt, teach us that another person’s humanity does not disappear because we disagree.
Where Earth is wounded, remind us that humanity cannot flourish while destroying the community of life that sustains us.
May our pursuit of peace never become an excuse for ignoring injustice.
Give us courage to speak when silence protects oppression.
But even as we resist injustice, guard us against the temptation to dehumanize.
Let justice restore dignity rather than manufacture new enemies.
Today, help us notice someone we might otherwise overlook.
May one stranger become a neighbor.
May one argument become a conversation.
May one prejudice become a question.
May one act of generosity become another.
Peace within us.
Peace between us.
Justice among us.
Healing around us.
One Earth.
One human family.
Many paths.
A shared future.
May we learn to see one another.
Amen. So may it be. Salaam. Shalom. Blessed be.
Peace to all beings.
🌿 Daily Kilubansa Healing Ritual
The Water Remembers the River
Place a bowl or cup of clean water before you.
Beside it, place a stone, leaf, flower, seed, or familiar herb.
Take three slow breaths.
With the first breath say:
I arrive.
With the second:
I soften.
With the third:
I receive.
Invocation
Sacred Source of Healing,
Kilubansa, healing presence,
meet us beside the waters of life.
A river does not remain exactly as it was yesterday.
Water moves.
Banks change.
Stones become smooth.
New paths appear.
And still the river remains a river.
Teach us something of this wisdom.
Our lives change.
Our bodies change.
Our minds change.
Our relationships change.
Our abilities may change.
Sometimes we welcome those changes.
Sometimes we grieve them.
May healing never require us to pretend that change is easy.
Bless those whose bodies need care.
Bless those whose minds need gentleness.
Bless those living with pain, disability, grief, uncertainty, or exhaustion.
Bless those adapting to circumstances they did not choose.
Bless those learning new ways to accomplish familiar tasks.
Bless those who need help with everyday life.
May assistance protect dignity rather than diminish it.
Bless caregivers, physicians, nurses, therapists, counselors, healers, chaplains, families, friends, neighbors, and communities.
May they recognize that sometimes healing means restoration.
Sometimes healing means adaptation.
Sometimes healing means comfort.
Sometimes healing means companionship.
And sometimes healing means discovering a new way forward.
Healing Action
Touch the water.
Say:
Life moves.
Touch your forehead.
May I meet change with patience.
Touch your heart.
May I honor what I grieve.
Touch your hands.
May I use what I have today.
Hold your natural object.
Notice its shape and texture.
Imagine a river moving around stones rather than arguing with them.
Say:
I can change direction without losing myself.
Ask gently:
Where might I need to flow differently today?
Perhaps you need assistance.
Perhaps you need rest.
Perhaps an old method no longer works.
Perhaps you need to release an expectation.
Perhaps you need to try something new.
Remain quietly for several breaths.
Closing
Say:
I honor what was.
I receive what is.
I remain open to what may become.
Change does not erase my dignity.
Receiving help does not erase my worth.
A different road can still lead toward a fuller life.
I will live and help live.
So may it be.
This contemplative spiritual practice complements rather than replaces appropriate professional healthcare.
🌱 Herbal Minute
Peppermint — The Cooling Companion
Today’s herb is peppermint (Mentha × piperita).
Peppermint has a long history of traditional use for digestive comfort. Its aromatic leaves contain menthol and other compounds responsible for its characteristic cooling scent and flavor.
Simple Peppermint Tea
Place 1–2 teaspoons of dried peppermint leaves into a cup.
Pour about 8 ounces of hot water over the leaves.
Cover and steep for approximately 5–10 minutes.
Strain and sip slowly.
Covering the cup while the herb steeps helps retain some of its aromatic compounds.
Herbal Wisdom
Herbalism does not always require an exotic plant or complicated formula.
Sometimes the most useful plants are already sitting quietly in the kitchen cupboard.
Learning herbalism begins with learning individual plants:
How do they smell?
How do they taste?
What parts are traditionally used?
How have different cultures worked with them?
What does modern research tell us?
And importantly:
When should they not be used?
Herbal Common Sense
Peppermint may worsen heartburn or acid reflux in some people. Herbs and concentrated herbal products can also interact with medicines or be inappropriate for particular health conditions.
Respect the plant enough to learn both its possibilities and its limitations.
Today’s Herbal Minute
Learn the plant.
Respect the plant.
Use the plant wisely.
Herbal education complements rather than replaces appropriate medical care.
✝️ Order of Franciscan Clareans Reflection
You Don’t Have to Stay the Same
We sometimes confuse faithfulness with never changing.
We imagine that a faithful person should believe exactly what they believed ten years ago.
Ask the same questions.
Use the same language.
Practice spirituality exactly the same way.
But creation does not work like that.
Seeds become trees.
Caterpillars become butterflies.
Rivers change course.
Bodies age.
Communities evolve.
Knowledge grows.
Francis changed.
The young Francis dreaming of military glory was not the Francis who embraced poverty and peace.
The Francis who initially recoiled from people living with leprosy was transformed through encounter.
Clare changed too.
She continually negotiated what faithful community should look like within the circumstances confronting her.
And the disciples changed.
Their understanding of Jesus, community, Gentiles, religious law, and mission developed as they encountered situations their original categories could not adequately contain.
Growth requires change.
That does not mean every new idea is automatically better.
It means we remain willing to learn.
Faithfulness does not require intellectual paralysis.
Sometimes faithfulness means admitting:
I was wrong.
Sometimes:
I understand this differently now.
Sometimes:
That teaching harmed people, and I can no longer defend it.
Sometimes:
Science has taught us something our ancestors did not know.
Sometimes:
Listening to another person’s experience has changed me.
There is no shame in growth.
A spirituality incapable of learning eventually becomes a museum exhibit.
Beautiful perhaps.
But frozen.
The Franciscan Clarean path is alive.
It honors tradition without worshiping the past.
It studies Scripture without pretending every interpretation inherited from previous generations must remain untouched.
It listens to science.
It listens to experience.
It listens to people whose voices institutions have historically ignored.
And then it asks:
What helps life flourish now?
Our objective is Eternal Progression.
That means the journey isn’t finished.
Our goal is A Fuller Life for Everyone.
That means growth must ultimately serve life beyond ourselves.
Our slogan is Live and Help Live.
That means spirituality becomes something we practice.
Stay rooted.
Remain curious.
Change when wisdom requires it.
Keep loving.
Keep becoming.
✨ Order of ChristoCorrellians Ritual
The Ritual of Eternal Becoming
Place a candle or electric candle before you.
Beside it, place a bowl of water and something representing Earth—a stone, seed, plant, flower, leaf, or soil.
Take three slow breaths.
Say:
Sacred Mystery,
God and Goddess,
Christ and Holy Wisdom,
Divine Feminine and Sacred Spirit,
meet me within the mystery of becoming.
East — Air
Face or visualize the East.
Say:
Sacred Air, bring new understanding.
Clear away ideas I preserve only because I fear change.
South — Fire
Turn toward the South.
Say:
Sacred Fire, transform what no longer serves life.
Give me courage to grow.
West — Water
Turn toward the West.
Touch the water.
Say:
Sacred Water, teach me flexibility.
Help me change course when wisdom requires another direction.
North — Earth
Turn toward the North.
Touch your natural object.
Say:
Sacred Earth, keep me rooted while I grow.
Teach me that roots and change can exist together.
Return to the Center
Look toward the candle.
Say:
Christ, call me beyond comfortable certainty into deeper love.
Touch the Earth.
Divine Mother, teach me through the changing seasons of the living world.
Touch the water.
Holy Spirit, move through everything within me that has become stagnant.
Place your hands over your heart.
Say:
God and Goddess, Sacred Mystery, help me become without demanding that I already be complete.
Pause.
Imagine yourself standing on a long road.
Behind you are all the versions of yourself who brought you here.
Do not reject them.
Thank them.
Then look ahead.
The road continues beyond what you can see.
Say:
I honor who I have been.
I receive who I am.
I welcome who I am becoming.
Now pray:
May Christianity continually rediscover the radical love of Jesus.
May Correllian and Pagan wisdom deepen my relationship with Earth, sacred cycles, and the Divine Feminine.
May other spiritual traditions challenge and expand my understanding.
May science correct me when evidence requires correction.
May experience keep my spirituality grounded in real life.
May questions remain welcome.
May tradition give me roots without becoming chains.
May change produce greater compassion rather than merely novelty.
Raise your hands slightly.
Air moves.
Fire transforms.
Water flows.
Earth grows.
Christ calls.
Spirit breathes.
Sacred Mystery unfolds.
Nothing living remains exactly the same.
I am still becoming.
We are still becoming.
Eternal Progression.
I will live and help live.
Amen and blessed be.
🚶 The Urban Pilgrim’s Practice
Change One Small Thing
Today, change one tiny thing.
Take a different route.
Read a viewpoint you normally wouldn’t encounter.
Learn one new fact.
Try a different food.
Ask somebody how they see an issue before telling them what you think.
Move something in your room.
Learn the name of a plant.
Change a belief if the evidence genuinely requires it.
Or change nothing except the way you pay attention.
Small changes remind us that our lives are not finished manuscripts.
We are drafts still being written.
And thank goodness.
Imagine being permanently stuck with everything you believed at fifteen.
That would be a theological emergency.
📖 Pilgrim’s Blessing
May the Sacred Mystery meet you upon the unfinished road.
May Christ call you toward deeper compassion.
May the Divine Feminine teach you the wisdom of seasons and cycles.
May the Spirit give you courage to change.
May Brother Sun remind you that every morning is different.
May Sister Water teach you to flow around obstacles.
May Brother Wind bring unfamiliar possibilities.
May Mother Earth keep you rooted while you grow.
May you honor your past without becoming imprisoned by it.
May you receive your present without demanding perfection.
May you approach your future with curiosity.
May your questions become doorways.
May your learning produce humility.
May your changing produce greater compassion.
And may every stage of becoming lead toward a fuller life—for you, your neighbor, and the living Earth.
Eternal Progression.
A Fuller Life for Everyone.
Live and Help Live.
Remember:
We Are One.
Stay rooted.
Keep growing.
Remain curious.
And tomorrow—
We Walk Again.
Amen. So may it be.
