Wednesday Night Bible Study

Join us each Wednesday evening for a thoughtful, engaging, and transformative journey through Scripture from a progressive Christian perspective.

Our Wednesday Night Bible Study is designed for anyone who wants to explore the Bible with both heart and mind. Together we examine the historical, cultural, and spiritual context of the biblical text, drawing on the insights of modern biblical scholarship while remaining rooted in the radical love and compassion revealed in Jesus.

Rather than asking, “What must I believe?” we ask, “How does this passage invite us to live more compassionately, seek justice, love our neighbors, and deepen our relationship with the Sacred?”

Each study includes:

  • A welcoming opening reflection and prayer
  • An in-depth exploration of the biblical text
  • Historical and cultural background
  • Insights from respected progressive Christian scholars
  • Practical applications for everyday life
  • Opportunities for personal reflection and spiritual growth

Whether you are a lifelong Christian, questioning your faith, returning to church after years away, or simply curious about the Bible, you are welcome here. No prior knowledge is required—just an open mind and an open heart.

Our studies are streamed online through Facebook and YouTube, allowing you to participate from wherever you are. If you miss a session, recordings remain available so you can study at your own pace.

Come discover the Bible through the Franciscan Clarean lens—a vision centered on love over fear, compassion over judgment, justice over exclusion, and the life-giving message of the Poor, Queer, and Crucified Christ.

Everyone is welcome. There is a place for you at this table.
